To help celebrate National Enterprise week on Tuesday 15th November students from the appleton school stepped onto the catwalk with the help of one of the UK's largest clothing retailers the Arcadia Group. Art and Textile students underwent workshops with the help of London designers from Miss Selfridge and Topman to customise clothes that the Arcadia Group had provided. Art Students had also been busy for painting and designing the scenery, backdrops, posters and tickets for the fashion show, which form part of their Applied Art coursework, whilst the dance students helped with choreography. Ellis hair salon bought in their apprentices to help style all the models hair.
The fashion show was delivered to our year 11 students alongside a presentation from HR staff from Arcadia about the different career options available in the fashion and retail industry. A 3rd show was put on at lunchtime for the rest of the school with monies raised from ticket sales going to Children in need. The day was very successful and the students really enjoyed modelling the clothes.
