Young Enterprise 2009 - 2010

We have 3 Young Enterprise teams registered this year; they are called “With Love”, “Shooting Stars” and “Last Chance”. The teams successfully sold shares 1to friends and family to raise start up capital in order to purchase their stock.

Shooting Stars have been very enterprising and decided to use an idea they learnt about in a science lesson. They are selling fashionable bracelets with Ultraviolet Light detection beads that change colour in the sun to alert the user of exposure to potentially harmful UV rays.

Last Chance decided to sell a range of bags, purses and accessories made from recycled juice packs - non-biodegradable foil and plastic packaging that would otherwise go into landfill sites and incinerators. All of their products are made by a women's cooperative in the Philippines.

With Love started by making their own range of unique gift baskets such as a “Student Survival Kit” designed for young people who are going off to university and a “New Baby Basket”. They then decided to modify their products and moved into handmade unique jewellery.
