The English area has its own suite of rooms with our own computer room.
We teach in mixed ability groups for year 7 and set by ability in years 7,8,9,10,11.
We follow the literacy strategy framework for teaching at key three. Our lessons are exciting, challenging and rigorous. Our students are included in their own learning; they all know what their target national curriculum levels are, and what they need to do to progress to the next level.
Key Stage 4 students follow the OCR GCSE syllabus. All students take GCSE English language and most will also have the opportunity to study Literature. Our aim is to develop our students so that they can become confident writers and communicators.
