Equality and Diversity

As part of this course students are introduced to the concepts of equality and diversity in the context of a working environment. The course will build upon the students existing knowledge of the issues of stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, to identify the basic rights that all people should enjoy and the shared values people have. During the course students will be encouraged to examine the responsibility each person and organisation has in ensuring that the barriers to participation in society are removed and equal opportunities are provided.

Students will complete two units of work ‘Exploring equality and diversity' and ‘Living in diverse communities'.  For each unit the student must be able to demonstrate their understanding of key concepts and issues through completion of an assessment workbook.  Both units must be fully completed for the student to be awarded the Level 2 Certificate.
