Lead Practitioner History

Required from April or September 2018

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and motivated Teacher of History to take on the role of Lead Practitioner.  The successful candidate will have a track record of achieving outstanding outcomes and will be responsible for ensuring that Teaching and Learning in History has a high profile across the school. The position would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher to take on a new leadership challenge.

Appleton is an over-subscribed school that has been judged as an Outstanding school by OFSTED in its last two inspections. With the addition of our Sixth Form the school has now grown to 1500 students overall. OFSTED 2013 confirmed that this is a school where "parents and staff rightly speak very highly of the school".

We offer an excellent induction programme within a friendly and supportive environment and are committed to high quality professional development and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

The Appleton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

If you are able to inspire and motivate students in order to help them achieve their full potential and you are looking for an additional challenge to lead in your subject we would welcome your application.
