Students work alongside qualified hairstylists in our very own hair salon to gain one City & Guilds qualification in hairdressing. The syllabus covers aspects of hairdressing such as style & dress womens hair, shampoo and condition the hair and scalp, colouring, cutting, perming and salon reception duties. The students are also prepared for working in this occupation through the study of health & safety in the salon environment. Students’ knowledge is tested through a series of practical assessments and assignments and one online examination. On completion of the course students will be fully prepared to commence study of the NVQ level 2 qualification in hairdressing or enter into an apprenticeship/employment.
