Teacher of Maths with Numeracy Lead

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Mathematics Teacher to join our dedicated team at The Appleton School. As the Numeracy Lead, you will play a central role in promoting and enhancing numeracy skills across the school. You will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that support numeracy development for all students, regardless of their starting point. This role is perfect for a motivated and forward-thinking individual who is eager to drive whole-school improvement in numeracy education.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Mathematics across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that all students are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.
  • Establish a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued and empowered to delve into challenging mathematical concepts with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress and attainment through a range of formative and summative methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the Mathematics curriculum, participating in departmental meetings and contributing to cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement a whole-school numeracy strategy aligned with educational goals and national standards.
  • Design and implement numeracy initiatives and interventions to support students at all levels of attainment.
